Star Revenge is a series of SM64 hacks made by BroDute that began with the release of Star Takeover in 2012.
There are 17 hacks officially in the current Star Revenge timeline, and a total of 24 entries when including remakes. The latest entry, Star Revenge 4.9: Adulterated Reality, was released in 2022. However, a more recent hack by the creator contained many references the Star Revenge series, and could arguably be considered to be a part of the Star Revenge universe.

Current games in the Star Revenge timeline are shown in bold.
At the heart of the Star Revenge story is a magical artefact called the Scepter of Faith. This mystical item, which is powered by Power Stars, had two guardians assigned to it- BroDute and Timerock- who are tasked with safeguarding it. Why? Because the Scepter of Faith has the power to grant wishes, even impossible ones.
Both the Main Universe and the Parallel Universe have their own Scepter of Faith, and both are incredibly powerful. With it, anyone could easily deliver lasting damage to the timeline with barely a thought, as proven by Reverse Mario himself after seizing it in Star Revenge 0: Galaxy of Origins. One of the few drawbacks of the Scepters is that they can only be used in their own timelines- the Reverse Universe's Scepter of Faith would be powerless if used in the Main Universe, and vice versa.
At the start of the Star Revenge story, the Scepter of Faith is stolen by one of its very own guardians- Reverse Timerock. This leads to its other guardian, Reverse BroDute, enlisting Reverse Mario's help in retrieving the Scepter of Faith. Unfortunately for Reverse BroDute, Reverse Mario has his own agenda- something he doesn't realise until it's too late.
The Scepter of Faith can be encountered in several of the Star Revenge games. In Luigi Lost in Time, Luigi fights Prince Bob-omb for control of the Scepter, which stays suspended in the sky above the battle. It can also be seen in the room beyond BroDute's gallery in Reverse Castle Blaudia, and after succesfully overcoming the trials in the Scepter Sanctum in Adulterated Reality. It can also be seen more than a few times in Scepter of Hope, when many powerful beings clash for control of it. The Scepter's appearance remains similar, but it seems to have a curious habit of drastically changing sizes, varying from many times Mario's height, to only a couple times his height.
The Star Revenge story begins with the aptly named Galaxy of Origins. This hack introduces Reverse Mario in his own timeline, and tells us more about the kind of life he leads in Luigi's shadow. Many characters he can talk to around his home are shocked to see him out and about- concerned, even, going so far as to consol him with the knowledge that his brother Luigi is more than sufficient at protecting the Mushroom Kingdom. Unfortunately, their treatment of him doesn't seem to come from a place of kindness.
Reverse Mario moves on down to the docks, where the BroDute of this timeline, Reverse BroDute, is hanging around. They exchange a minimal amount of small talk before Reverse BroDute suggests Reverse Mario lends him a hand with something.
As one of the Guardians of the Scepter of Faith, Reverse BroDute has a duty to ensure its safety and prevent any theft of this powerful artefact. Unfortunately, one of his fellow guardians and the Spirit of Death, Reverse Timerock, has himself stolen the Scepter of Faith and fled to a far off galaxy with it. Reverse BroDute is powerful enough to make chase, but still requests Mario help him with retrieving it, including securing their means of space travel by fetching the spaceship's key from Reverse Bowser.
Supposedly, Reverse BroDute can't do much while he's far away from the Scepter. He requests that Reverse Mario go and collect some Stars from the planets near the Rainbow Road, to give Reverse Mario a much-needed power boost, and in preparation for whatever sealed doors Reverse Timerock has put in their way. Together, they track down Reverse Timerock to the Tower of Tempora. It takes the power of 50 Stars to enter the Tower of Tempora, so Reverse Mario sure does have his work cut out for him. Although, even just at the entrance, Reverse BroDute finds himself to be in close enough range of the Scepter to attempt to weaken Reverse Timerock, which would allow for Reverse Mario to defeat him.
By the time Reverse Mario has finished platforming his way up the Tower's perilous architecture, Reverse BroDute has taken advantage of the distraction his partner has created and finished weakening Reverse Timerock.
At the door leading to Reverse Timerock's chambers, Reverse BroDute excitedly ponders on what they should wish for once they've obtained the Scepter of Faith. His partner seems to be quiet.
Reverse Mario has been living in the shadow of his brother, Reverse Luigi, for as long as he can remember. Everytime he so much as leaves the house, the residents of the Mushroom Kingdom belittle him, whether intentionally or not. Upon finally catching up to and defeating Reverse Timerock, Reverse Mario seizes the Scepter of Faith, and wishes for himself to become the "main character", so that he can finally stop living in Reverse Luigi's overbearing shadow.
Reverse Mario's wish is fulfilled. He switches places with the Mario of another timeline- the Main Timeline- in which he has always been the "main character", thus leaving the Parallel Universe behind. When he arrives in the Main Timeline, Reverse Mario suddenly finds himself swept up in saving the Mushroom Kingdom from an invasion of Blue Stars, which he does so spectacularly, thus fulfilling his egocentric fantasy.
Back in the Parallel Universe, Reverse Mario's actions have left a trail of chaos, and the powerful magic of the Scepter of Faith has had some unintended side effects. After his initial realisation that his partner had betrayed him, Reverse BroDute takes a moment to lament on how everyone he has come to trust has betrayed him. Perhaps it was the pain of yet another betrayal, or the dangerous influence from the Scepter of Faith, but despite his attempt to shake off his sadness, Reverse BroDute still falls victim to an overwhelming surge of negative emotions. In his fury, he lashes out at Mario and seals him away inside a card, only later realising that the Mario he lashed out at was not Reverse Mario, but rather the displaced Mario of the Main Timeline.
Despite this version of Mario not having wronged him, Reverse BroDute still keeps him trapped inside the card, and puts him on display in his gallery. With his real target still running free, Reverse BroDute's anger remians unquelled, and in a fit of fury, he destroys his own Universe. With the Parallel Universe's Scepter of Faith now in his possession, Reverse BroDute now sets out to hunt down Reverse Mario, with the intention to entrap him in an endless cycle of torment.
Meanwhile, Reverse Mario has touched down in the Main Timeline- and just in time, too. Strange Blue Stars are causing trouble for the entire Kingdom- even Bowser, who has found himself the unwilling puppet of the Blue Stars. With this timeline's heroic plumber out of the picture, the Stars have no one standing in their way.
Despite the strife of the Mushroom Kingdom, this is actually Reverse Mario's lucky day. Now free of his previous life among the disdainful citizens of the Reverse Timeline's Mushroom Kingdom, an opportunity had presented itself- one in which he could live out the life he had been dreaming of, one in which he could follow in his brother's footsteps free from the negative judgement from others.
One by one, Reverse Mario retrieves each of the Blue Stars, taking away power from their collective and using it himself to progress further into the Kingdom. Eventually, as is inevitable, he comes face to face with Bowser. Despite being of a different timeline, this Bowser seems to have a lot in common with Reverse Bowser. They both don't have a lot of beef with Mario- at least not enough to incite a strong reaction from suddenly facing his rival- and he also has a tendency to hold onto important keys.
In a fit of desperation, Bowser pleads with Reverse Mario to help him escape the influence of the Blue Stars, who are controlling his every move, and even speak through him from time to time. Reverse Mario, ever the gentle hero, blows Bowser up, and robs him of his precious key. What a nice thing to do! Unfortunately, that hasn't freed Bowser, and it's not until their final showdown with the last of the Blue Stars on the line that Bowser gets a shot at freedom.
This time, Bowser pleads again, saying that he can't bear the Stars anymore, only to get interrupted by those very Stars speaking through him. The Blue Stars kindly yell at Bowser to shut up, before demanding Reverse Mario return the Stars he has stolen, claiming to be invincible and unstoppable. But, despite their claims, Reverse Mario still defeats Bowser and liberates him of the Blue Stars controlling his mind.
Free at last, Bowser willingly hands a large Star over to Reverse Mario, and asks that he use it to save Princess Peach, before announcing that he's going to scout around his surroundings for potential holiday destinations.

In Star Revenge 5: Neo Blue Realm, there are multiple endings the player can get, with the main two endings having very different outcomes. The second ending results in Reverse Mario being captured by Reverse BroDute, and forcibly dragged back to the Parallel Universe; below is a written version of how that turns out.
Hidden inside Castle Blaudia is a dark blue warp pipe, in a secret room behind a TV set. Like the other special warp pipes in Neo Blue Realm, this warp pipe also leads to the Parallel Universe. Specifically, it leads directly to Reverse Castle Blaudia. A door requiring 65 Stars to open stands in the way of exploring the rest of the Castle, but when unlocked, the path it opens to eventually leads into the gallery.
This dead-end has only one thing for Reverse Mario: the Vanish Cap Switch. But with it are the last survivors of his original timeline- Reverse BroDute and Reverse Timerock, the latter of which is now taking the form of a Bob-omb Buddy. Still held hostage and trapped in cards are Reverse Mario's real brother, Luigi Luigi; the Princess he was responsible for rescuing in the Parallel Universe- Princess Daisy- and of course, the first prisoner to captured, Mario Mario of the Main Universe. The very same hero Reverse Mario had stolen the place of.
Never one to miss an opportunity to taunt Reverse Mario, Reverse BroDute does just that, although he does begrudgingly admit that Reverse Mario was very helpful in aiding his acquirement of the Parallel Universe's Scepter of Faith- which is safely stowed away in a glass cabinet behind him. Reverse BroDute warns Reverse Mario to savour what was left of his time in the Main Universe, as he may not have much longer left, but allows him to leave Reverse Castle Blaudia with no further conflict.
Despite the close encounter with the malicious Spirit of Life from his past, Reverse Mario now has the Vanish Cap Switch activated. With that done, he can finally find out what's behind the metal grate in the grounds of Castle Blaudia, using one of the very few remaining Vanish Caps left, hidden in a tree nearby. The dark passageway behind it is home to a mesmerising portal that leads deeper into the Blue Realm- so deep, in fact, that it reaches the Outer Core. One step away from the very heart of the Blue Realm.
Upon touching down in the Blue Realm's Outer Core, Reverse Mario comes face-to-face with a huge dark statue of one of the BroDute's. Pointing into its heart is a jagged bolt emanating from a six-pointed Star, and standing at the foot of the statue is Timerock in his Bob-omb Buddy form. He helpfully points out the black object above them as a "Black Star Needle", and goes on to theorise that the Needle is hatred given form, and that it is controlling BroDute.
This, if true, might explain the erratic behaviour exhibited, particularly from Reverse BroDute.
Unfortunately, Timerock goes on to say that their attempt to remove the Star Needle didn't work, as it's too "stuck in there". They then theorise aloud that the Needle is drawing its power from the Blue Realm's Core, but claim to be too afraid to enter the Core themselves.
The implied plan is clear: find a way to strip the Star Needle of its power; remove it from BroDute, and everyone lives happily ever after. The tricky bit was supposed to be the first step- cutting off its source of power, given that it was drawing power directly from the Blue Realm's Core. Thus, the only way to proceed was to shut down the Core. Risky, but it could be Reverse Mario's only shot at restoring the Spirit of Life's sanity.
The closer Reverse Mario gets to the Core of the Blue Realm, the more BroDute pleads with him to reconsider, fearing the dire consequences. But with the knowledge of the Needle's influence in mind, there weren't an abundance of reasons why Reverse Mario should listen to him. After all, Timerock wouldn't make something like this up, would they?
Reverse Mario may have been the underdog of his original timeline, but he still excels at fighting strange beings. The Core's defense system eventually wears thin and dies, taking down the entire Blue Realm with it.
With the source of energy gone, a cascade of disasters follows. There is no chance to even get near to the Star Needle- one moment he's in the Core, and the next, Reverse Mario finds himself standing in the bleak remains of that realm.
None other than Reverse BroDute, the first person he had ever betrayed, stands in front of him. On the ground between them is the BroDute of the Main Timeline, trapped inside of a card... for now, as a makeshift method of preserving what was left of the Main Universe's Blue Realm.
Having been fed information that led him on to destroy the Blue Realm's Core, Reverse Mario has inadvertently destroyed the Main Timeline. Now that there's nothing of this world left, he has finally run out of places to hide from Reverse BroDute's endless malice. The remaining Spirit of Life allows him to collect one last Star, courtesy of some stray red coins lying around in the wastes, before finally seizing Reverse Mario for his collection of prisoners, suspended as cards in the gallery of Reverse Castle Blaudia.
